When can I purchase a New or Pre-Owned Ford Extended Service Plan?

For Vehicles Within the Original Factory Warranty

All Ford ESP New Vehicle plans that provide mechanical coverage can be purchased within the original factory warranty, either the 3 years and 36,000 miles for Ford and Mercury, or 4 years and 50,000 miles for Lincoln.  If you buy a New Ford Extended Service Plan after one, two or three years of vehicle purchase, a surcharge may be applied to the total cost.  Convenience and Maintenance Plans may be purchased at any time.

For Vehicles Outside of the Original Factory Warranty

Vehicles that are outside of the factory warranty may also qualify for a Ford Extended Service Plan, however, a Used Vehicle Inspection must be completed by any authorized Ford Lincoln Mercury dealer or authorized service center prior to completing the purchase.  Please see the Document Library to download the Used Vehicle Inspection Form.

For Vehicles With An Active Ford ESP Plan

Vehicles that currently have an active Ford Extended Service Plan that will soon expire, are also eligible for additional Ford Extended Service Plan coverage.  During the quote process, simply indicate that your vehicle's factory warranty has expired and you will be directed to the available Ford Extended Service Plans that start from the date of purchase.  IMPORTANT:  You will want to wait until the current contract is close to expiring based on years or miles, as the extension contract supersedes the active contract.  Note: When extending an active contract, a vehicle inspection is not required.
